Emma Buckmaster
Emma is a printmaker and a potter. She makes mugs and bowls for everyday use as well as larger pieces in porcelain decorated with natural ash glazes. Her atmospheric prints are inspired by the East Anglian landscape. Fishing boats drawn up on the beach, a sea mist, glimpsed figures on the shoreline, the east wind and ancient oak trees introduce a sense of nostalgia and memory revisited. The prints are created using a limited palette and complex etching and relief techniques. Her work is held in many public and private collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Emma studied printmaking at the Cambridge School of Art and specialised in etching for her MA. She works from her studio on a farm near Bury St Edmunds.
