Kersey Pottery
Fred Bramham & Dorothy Gorst
Fred Bramham & Dorothy Gorst have worked in Suffolk since 1972, establishing their Kersey studio in 1982. They have since developed an idiosyncratic approach to high‑temperature ceramics. Wheel‑thrown and slabbed forms receive multiple layers of brushed pigment and glaze which only show their full effect after long reduction firing to 1375º C. They have developed new techniques which have evolved to encourage luminous colours and interesting textures.
The pair have now retired, closing their gorgeous Kersey Pottery in 2013. They no longer exhibit anywhere else in Suffolk; Come Hither Gallery is the only place that the last of their work is available for purchase. Lucky us!
